Before the Union Budget, there is some relief for the people. Oil marketing companies have revised the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders. From February, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder has been reduced by seven rupees. Since January this year, the retail selling price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is Rs 1804. In Kolkata, the price is Rs 1911, in Mumbai Rs 1756, and in Chennai Rs 1966 (according to Indian Oil data).

According to news agency PTI, aviation fuel (ATF) prices were increased by a significant 5.6% on Saturday, while the price of commercial LPG (19 kg), used in hotels and restaurants, was reduced by Rs 7 per cylinder. This reduction aligns with changes in benchmark international prices.

Increase in Aviation Fuel Price

According to government fuel retailers, the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) in the national capital has risen by Rs 5,078.25 per kilolitre, or 5.6%, bringing it to Rs 95,533.72 per kilolitre. Earlier, ATF prices were reduced by 1.5% on January 1. Before that, prices had increased by Rs 2,941.5 per kilolitre (3.3%) on November 1, 2024, and by Rs 1,318.12 per kilolitre (1.45%) on December 1, 2024. In Mumbai, the price of ATF rose to Rs 89,318.90 from Rs 84,511.93 per kilolitre.

Commercial LPG Price Reduction

On the other hand, oil companies have reduced the price of commercial LPG in the national capital by Rs 7 to Rs 1,797 per 19 kg cylinder. This marks the second price reduction following five consecutive months of price increases. On January 1, 2024, the price of a 19 kg cylinder was reduced by Rs 14.5.

Stable Domestic LPG Prices

The price of LPG for domestic use (14.2 kg cylinder) remains unchanged at Rs 803, with no price revision.

Price Revisions by Oil Companies

Public sector oil companies, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), revise the prices of ATF and LPG on the first date of each month. These revisions are based on the average price of benchmark international fuels and the foreign exchange rate.

Stable Petrol and Diesel Prices

Petrol and diesel prices have remained stable. Prices were reduced by Rs 2 per litre in mid-March, just before the general elections. In Delhi, the price of petrol is Rs 94.72 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 87.62 per litre.
